What schools need to know.
Does the school take on parent payment risk?
No. Under the agreed Future Ready Foundation programme, parent contributions are administered as voluntary donations and unpaid donations do not become a school financial liability.
Is there a lease liability for the school?
The programme is structured to avoid transferring parent-contribution liability to the school. Edge Computers confirms the finance, funding and contractual position before any formal proposal is issued.
Do parents need credit checks?
No. Voluntary parent contributions are not based on individual credit checks, device rental or a parent finance agreement.
Who manages parent payments?
Payment administration, reporting and remittance visibility are managed as part of the programme, protecting school finance teams from unpaid-donation liability and manual payment administration.
Who deals with damaged or faulty devices?
Edge Computers builds repairs, accidental-damage processes and a spare pool into the programme so faults and damage do not become a daily burden for school staff.
Is warranty administration handled by the school?
No. Warranty and support arrangements are planned into the programme. Edge Computers helps manage the process so the school is not left coordinating suppliers, repairs and replacements alone.
What happens if a pupil needs a device while theirs is repaired?
A typical 10% spare device pool can be included so learning can continue while repair or replacement work is managed.
Can the school reclaim VAT?
VAT treatment is reviewed as part of the programme model. Where VAT is reclaimable for the school, this is built into the proposal assumptions.
Can the school receive cashback?
Eligible HP and Lenovo education promotions can create vendor cashback, and Edge Computers also offers £75 per device on Carbon Conscious devices deployed into an Edge Computers managed 1:1 programme.
Does Edge Computers support staff training and adoption?
Yes. Edge Computers can include digital strategy, on-site launch support, remote classroom support and funded professional development so the programme supports teaching, not just device ownership.
What does the school need to do first?
Start with the device numbers, year groups, preferred launch date and platform. Edge Computers can then model the funding, contribution assumptions, deployment plan and support requirements.
